Parent Support Group Coordinator

Sanquinita Martin was awarded the 2007 South Carolina Juanita Chavez Award by Parents Anonymous, for her dedication to her family and community (2-24-07).
Sanquinita develops and coordinates ten support groups throughout Anderson County. She is responsible for all sites: the facilitator, childcare workers, donations, food, and transportation (where it's available). She works closely with churches and Anderson County Services Agencies to promote better community services.

Sanquinita will receive her Associates Degree in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing and Computer Technology from Tri-County Tech in 2006. While pursing her degree, she worked part-time with the Anderson Housing Authority. She also has worked with Family Connections for three years. (FC works with families that have children with special needs.) Sanquinita also served as an intern with Foothills Alliance Prevent Child Abuse, and as a facilitator of two groups (As We Speak / Teen Moms Against All Odds). She was presented with the opportunity to come on board as a full-time staff member with the Foothills Alliance Prevent Child Abuse Program in August 2005.

Sanquinita is a native of Level Land, SC. (Abbeville County). She currently resides with her son and daughter in Anderson. She also has a 16 year-old goddaughter in Abbeville. She enjoys spending quality time with them reading books, bike riding, having one-on-one time, picnics, and going to the movies. She feels that she is truly blessed to be their mother. Sanquinita is a firm believer of:
